Squeezed between the October half term and the Christmas holidays at the end of last year Andy, Mal, Mike the electrician and Tali the carpenter worked tirelessly to re-wire and re-fit both The Hayloft and Cartwheel Cottages, giving them beautiful new kitchens, lighting and internal doors.
Fuelled by doughnuts and sleepless nights, with blood, sweat and tears, it was a race against time to get everything finished before the Christmas holidays started!
However, coupled with the beautiful re-covered sofas in both cottages and the new carpets in The Hayloft we think you’ll agree their brand new country ‘hygge’ styles were well worth the effort, and we look forward to welcoming you here to experience them…
The Cartwheel
This cottage sleeps 4 people plus one infant in a cot. There are 2 bedrooms; a double and a bunk bedroom (with full-sized single mattresses), a newly fitted kitchen, dining area with a dining table which seats 6. With its new lighting and re-covered armchairs as well as the log burner to curl up next to in the evening the cosy lounge oozes country cottage charm. The kitchen door opens onto the garden with its own patio area with a table and seating for alfresco dining.
The Hayloft
The Hayloft sleeps 4 with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. This converted hayloft is on the first floor above The Cartwheel, accessed by exterior slate steps, and enjoys far-reaching views over the rolling countryside. The kitchen and lounge/dining room have been completely refurbished in the Scandi ‘hygge’ style giving this holiday flat a contemporary feel which still embraces its rural setting.
These two cottages are often booked as a pair for larger friend and family groups. Perfect for having your own space while still being close enough to pop in and out for get-togethers and holiday fun!
During your stay with us you can also enjoy full use of all our family-friendly onsite facilities, including :
– The Leisure Complex with the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym, plus the toddler soft play area and pool table.
– The Big Play Barn, our large indoor play area, with air hockey, table tennis, built-in Wendy house, play shop and garage, toddler ride-on vehicles, sand pit and table football
– Pets’ Corner with rabbits and guinea pigs
– The outdoor adventure playground with toddler slide and swing seats, wooden adventure park climbing frames, full size footie goals and farm walks
– Daily feeding of our farm animals, including Kune Kune and Potbellied pigs, Jacob sheep, Angora and Pygmy goats, Donkeys, and collecting the eggs from the chickens.
There is plenty to see and enjoy locally too for guests of all ages, including the world-renowned Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the Wales Coastal Path, castles, nature reserves, independent shops, arts and crafts, artisan food markets and eateries, and lots more.
We are located just a few minutes’ drive from two sandy beaches – Poppit Sands and Newport, which are always popular with guests with lots of space for walking, kite-flying, games of Frisbee, sand-castle building and rock pool exploring!
If you would like to bring your dog on holiday too we welcome one medium or two miniature dogs by prior arrangement in both of these cottages.
