Croft Farm & Celtic Cottages Awards

Here at Croft Farm & Celtic Cottages we never rest on our laurels and we’re continually striving to better ourselves each year. The biggest reward for our hard work is knowing that our guests have had a wonderful holiday. Some have been coming regularly for over 15 years, and a few guests who came originally as children are now grown up and returning with their own children, so we are meeting the next generation which is lovely!

We’re delighted to say that we’ve also received industry recognition too – we’ve won three big awards in the last few years!

The Green Tourism Silver Award

In 2016 we completed the installation of a new centralised biomass boiler and heating system for the main site. We now have two very large, wood pellet fired boilers which supply all of the heating and hot water for the cottages and indoor heated swimming pool, as well as the leisure building on the main site at Croft Farm

Some of the ways we have become more ‘green’ or are working towards becoming carbon neutral in the day to day running of the business have included choosing plant-based cleaning products, switching the entire property to LED light bulbs and improving our recycling and composting facilities.

Although we have no solar panels ourselves we are proud that all of the electricity used throughout Croft Farm & Celtic Cottages is 100% renewable – this means that our electricity supplier only feeds the grid with wind, water and solar generated power. It’s a great feeling.

More recently we are aware of the increase in hybrid cars on the road. We are happy for holidaymakers to charge their hybrid cars by arrangement, we just ask that the cables used are the ones supplied by the car manufacturer.

The Rural Business Awards 2018 – Best Rural Tourism Award Winners (Wales & NI)

After a nerve-wracking wait during the different selection rounds we were delighted to win Best Rural Tourism Business in our region at The Rural Business Awards Wales and NI in 2018.

It happened to coincide with us having been in business for 30 years, so that made it all the more special.

There were a host of other worthy finalists across 13 different categories, and we were pleased to see some of our favourite local businesses win in their categories too – Bluestone Brewing, Crwst, and Make It In Wales.

Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards 2018 Best Holiday Complex (Over 3 Units)

As well as winning at a national level (in the Rural Business Awards) it’s always lovely to be recognised at a local level as well. We were delighted to win the Best Holiday Complex (over 3 units) in 2018 in the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards.

It was a great excuse to get dressed up and spend a wonderful evening with so many of the amazing independent businesses who make Pembrokeshire special.

Here’s to many more opportunities for us all to celebrate being in business, and meeting so many wonderful visitors to our corner of Wales.
