Beaches

May - August 2010 428Blue flag bucket & spade beaches….without the crowds…

Blue flag beach, Poppit Sands is just a short hop from Croft Farm. A mile of sandy beach at low tide and a long bank of sand dunes offering shelter from inshore winds, is the perfect play to play.

Go for BBQs on the beach, body surfing, games of frisby, French cricket or rounders. Lose yourself for hours rock pooling.

Off season, it’s the perfect place for a leg stretch or serious sand castle construction. Walkers can access the start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path just above Poppit Sands. With a beach cafe in the car park or The Webley Waterfront Inn at the other end, you can make a day of it.

Young fisherman can do a spot of crabbing off the pontoon in St Dogmaels just above Poppit Sands.

Newport Sands, another blue flag beach with protected sand dunes, is the place to launch boats, kayaks and windsurfers. Prefer dry land? Explore the delightful galleries, pubs and surf shops in this tiny coastal town.
