Holidays for People Who Love Swimming – We’re In The Press!
“The trouble with swimming breaks is that you need to be able to swim. Or do you?….”
So say The Telegraph Travel online in an article titled The 10 Best Holidays For People Who Love Swimming, which we’re delighted to be featured in as one of the ten! [Read the full article HERE]
In it they rightly point out that when you choose a residential swimming course here at Croft Farm & Celtic Cottages, with Cheryl and Ian of Swimming Without Stress, you don’t have to be a good swimmer to still enjoy rewarding results.
Cheryl and Ian use the Alexander Technique in their swimming lessons to improve the quality of the experience in the water for both non-swimmers, and swimmers alike, by preventing unnecessary tension. It’s great for helping nervous swimmers relax and recreational swimmers move in a healthier, more efficient way.
One of the biggest mindset shifts their students have about swimming after lessons with Cheryl and Ian is that even if you do nothing the water will support you to allow them mindful movement, and that by improving your relationship with water you can move from fear and tension to relaxation and freedom.
When you book a swimming course here all your lessons are held in our onsite indoor heated pool.
Lessons are either one-to-one for 45 minutes, or a shared hour for 2 people, which can be for couples or friends (your abilities don’t need to be similar). We recommend 6-8 lessons to get the most from your tuition.
By taking an intensive swimming course, especially with the opportunity to practice in the pool between lessons as well, you can make a great deal of progress in a short space of time.
Better still, you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy our other onsite facilities and explore the local area of our world-famous Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park and Cardigan Bay.
You have the choice of our 10 luxury self-catering cottages for your accommodation, which range in size from sleeping 3 people to 12 people – so whether you’re coming alone, as a couple, or combining your swimming lessons with a 3 generation family getaway we have something to suit your needs.
Four of our cottages each have their own sole-use garden hot tub, and a further two of our cottages have a shared garden hot tub (you can book the time you’d like to use it).
Seven of our cottages are dog-friendly, and three are kept pet-free at all times (perfect for allergy sufferers).
We offer 10% off accommodation to all swimming lesson customers staying either 5 or 6 nights, and 15% off a 7 night stay. This discounted rate is valid from mid-September to mid-May. In June and July discounts vary according to the size of your travelling party, ranging from 10% – 25% off bookings of 5-7 nights.
Here’s what previous guests have said about taking our residential swimming courses:
“Everything you want in a perfect setting
Visited Croft Farm last week with a friend, with the purpose of enjoying the beautiful coastlines of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire, and for myself to learn to swim.
We were not disappointed we booked The Stable, which is a lovely two bedroom dwelling, with everything one could possibly want, from a full range of kitchen equipment to very comfortable beds, soft towels and wood stove with all wood supplied.
On arrival we were welcomed by Charmaine who showed us around the farm we were very impressed with all the facilities the lovely heated swimming pool, where I did learn to swim with the most amazing inspiring teachers Cheryl and Ian, who taught me how to relax in water. We didn’t make use of the sauna, hot tub or the Gym, but I intend to return to Croft Farm to improve my swimming and to enjoy all the facilities.”
“Ten stars!
I am searching for a reason to complain but can’t find one. I am here accompanying a friend whose long time ambition has been to learn to swim, at past retirement age. I’m happy to report that the lessons have been a success and that I, past my best, have had a great time here. I particularly like that grab rails are conveniently placed and the easy access to warmth. Nothing needed in the well equipped kitchen and delightful decor. What’s not to like, from Granny to the 5 y.o.?”

“A huge thank you to you both. I have totally exceeded what I hoped to achieve during the stay and have finally overcome a 50 year phobia. No mean feat, and thanks to your Alexander Technique approach but more importantly lovely teaching style.”
