So what exactly has been going on at The Cartwheel?
In times gone by, what is now The Cartwheel cottage was the stone barn used for storing the horse drawn carts which were part of working life here at Croft Farm – and you can still see whispers of its history in the cottage with the arched entrance which had to be large enough for the carts to get through.
And just as times have changed on the farm itself – The Cartwheel has just undergone another refurbishment to make it even more luxurious and comfortable for our guests!
Andy, Mal and Geth have been hard at work since Christmas, and now The Cartwheel proudly boasts
- A cosy new Wood Burning Stove in the living room
- New laminate flooring throughout the living room and two bedrooms
- New blinds on all the windows for a fresh airy feel
What could be nicer than treating yourselves to a Winter, Spring or Autumn getaway, knowing that as the light fades and the evening draws in you can snuggle up in front of the wood burner, and relax in the soft orange glow of the shifting embers and hint of fragrant wood-smoke.
With its traditional exposed stone and rough plaster feature walls, and country style kitchen, combined with luxury furnishings, plus the fact that it’s all on one floor, The Cartwheel is perfect for a family of four. You can find out more about the cottage on This Page.
And of course, you have full use of all Croft Farm’s facilities onsite, including the Leisure Complex with the indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, gym and soft play area and the games room. Also there’s daily feeding of the farm animals and egg collecting, the adventure playground, plus the Big Play Barn with the ride on toys, Wendy House, Pets’ Corner, air hockey and table tennis!

“What a FANTASTIC holiday!!!
My family and I stayed in the Cartwheel cottage and had the most wonderful holiday – so much to do on the farm itself and surrounding areas. The kids loved feeding the animals everyday and making friends with the other children. We didn’t get chance to use the indoor facilities much as the weather was glorious!!! we did however enjoy the pool (especially around tea-time when we would meet and chat while all the kids played – happy memories) I would also like to thank the owners as well…. the farm is beautfully maintained and they make you feel at home. Oooo, and the plate of scones on arrival went down a treat – THANKS EVERYONE and hopefully see you next year”
